Final comments on Web 2.0

Have just finished reading a book called 'Can't be arsed' 101 things NOT to do before you die by Richard Wilson, and just wish the author had done Web 2.0 training and then he could have retitled his book 'Can't be arsed' 102 things NOT to do before you die.

YouTube etc

Posted the animal video on my blog because I found it mildly amusing. Not really my thing watching video clips like this. Seemed to be a high percentage that were very amatuerish and out of focus, and of an objectionable nature, but can see how it would appeal to a section of the population.
Am sure Libraries could use if to communicate with the section of our users who are into getting info in this manner.

Facebook, Bebo, My Space and now twitter

Oh what fun you can have with these if you have nothing better to do with your life, but must admit I do have a Facebook page only because my daughter was travelling overseas and she could post pictures and comments for me to look at and to let me know what she was up to.
These site do have a use if you like to keep in touch with people in other parts of the country and other places in the world, but I do think it is a bit sad that we have to have these sites for people who live in the same city and in fact the same suburb, isn't it much nicer to get together in person and actually talk to a person!!!

Rollyo

Whatever week this is I have no idea but anyway have looked at Rollyo search engine and compared with Google got much the same results and was directed to the same web sites as when I used google, so I guess its just another search engine you can use.
